Talent Qualified Employee & Talent EU Blue Card: Increased Remuneration Thresholds in France

On August 31, 2025, a new order officially updated the remuneration thresholds for certain residence permits dedicated to international professionals in France.

This change primarily affects the gross annual reference salary, which determines eligibility and renewal conditions for the following permits:

Annual Reference Salary Amount

The new threshold is set at €39,582 gross (previously €35,891).

Affected Residence Permits

  • “Talent – Qualified Employee” multi-year residence permit (including employees on assignment, employees of innovative companies, and professionals holding French Degree)
  • “Talent – EU Blue Card” residence permit

New thresholds effective August 31, 2025

  • Talent – Qualified Employee: €39,582 gross annual
  • Talent – EU Blue Card: €59,373 gross annual (up from €53,836.50)

This update strengthens France’s framework for attracting international talent and ensures salary requirements reflect current market conditions. Employers hiring non-EU nationals must ensure proposed salaries meet these new requirements, both for initial applications and for renewals of affected residence permits.
